set, spike than last year." She said, "I don’t know if I’m playing next year, I’m thinking about playing soccer next year." Mari Puga, Sophomore, said "I did well tonight, the best." Furthermore, she said she is looking forward to playing next year. Coach Duffy commented about the season, "What’s frustrating is that the girls don’t play up to their capability." She mentioned. For a while players who are interested in joining the DePue High School Boys Basketball team have been attending open gyms to help hone their basketball fundamentals. These open gyms where not mandatory but attendance was valued. H.S Boys Basketball had a meeting last Thursday to discuss the upcoming basketball season for 2009-2010. Coach Gilbert Moreno wrote down the players that attended this meeting. Then he operated the rest of the meeting as an open gym for the players. The first official practice for the season will be held on Tuesday October 27th in the gym. Coach Moreno commented that practices will start out fairly easy and progressively get harder with more running and more drills. If you are interested in joining H.S. Boys Basketball you must attend the practice on Tuesday. Make sure that you have an athletic physical to be able to practice. If you do not have an athletic physical attend anyways so the coaches can know your interest in playing. Varsity players can go by Lakeview Video to pick up practice jerseys, but Fresh-Soph players will have to wait to attend practice to receive their practice jerseys.
Activity Club Votes on First Trip

Activity Club member votes are in for their first trip of the year. Activity Club members will most likely learn where they are going to go at the upcoming Activity Club meeting. They had a chance to choose from a basketball game, ski trip, hockey game, or a trip to the Shed Aquarium. The deadline for the Cinch Sack sale was at the end of last week, but members may still be able to turn the money in later in the week. Depending on how much that an individual Activity Club member sold they may have been entered to receive a gift certificate. The next fund-raiser will be coming up later in the year. The Activity Club is also making a killing with their concession stands at games. Attendance for most of the Activity Club members at concession stand is high. Mr. Larios, Mrs. Sment, Mrs. Butler and Mrs. Koehler have been keeping their members in line at the concession stands and Activity Club also has been doing a 50-50 at the games. With games that attract a lot more attendance coming up they will most likely gain more profit from both of these fundraisers.
