Mrs. Chandler reviewed the budget.  Mrs. Chandler informed the Board that every account was balanced. Mrs. Chandler is hopeful the District will be able to save a little this year.  This year will be a lean year and Mrs. Chandler stated her budget was a “lean, mean budget.”  Mrs. Chandler stated the District will receive less state aide this year.  The Title I grant had a large carryover; we will receive $1,000 less on Reading Improvement grant; $11,000 less on the Pre-K grant; and we will receive more on the Bi-lingual grant because of our population.

Mrs. Chandler also informed the Board of the following:

  • Health insurance costs went up $48,000
  • Teachers received a raise
  • Lower State Aide
  • We are not sure how much we will receive from the State or exactly when we will receive the monies

There were no questions from the public or any board members.

Voice vote for adjournment of the Budget Hearing:  Aye:  6.  Nay:  None.  Motion carried.
